Erika Max Bernheimer

Erika Max Bernheimer

Treasurer

Although currently employed as a Hospitality Manager at a winery in Northern California, Erika has a deep background in the non-profit and government sector which is relevant to her position as a board member of Toybox. Whilst working for the City of Oakland Erika was a Program Analyst for three different departments over those seven years. One was a fighting poverty in Oakland, one was a violence prevention program and one was working to help homelessness in the city. Erika believes that working across these three departments made her a better community member as well as making her well aware of so many issues, not just limited to a city, but also those that affect people and communities worldwide. I am so honored to be a board member for Toy box since I think my background fits all the goals of Toybox.

Courageous is... Fighting for your rights and the rights of others, even when it is not always easy.

Courage is doing what's right, not what's easy, even if you're the only person in the room standing up. And chances are, someone else who couldn't quite get there themselves will see you and be inspired by your courage.
